JSV Group acquires its second next-generation, low-emission vessel

SV acquires its second “next-generation” and low-emission vessel

  • In 2026, the company will have two modern and sustainable-technology vessels, capable of reducing CO₂ emissions by up to 70%.
  • These are two twin vessels with identical features. The first will be delivered next March, and the second in June.
  • JSV Group is accelerating its growth and sustainability plans following the entry of Nazca Capital, announced last July.
October 2025.

The new vessel, which will be named “Miranda Green” in tribute to the city where the company originated, is a twin ship to the recently acquired Mila Green and required the same investment: 38 million euros. With this major acquisition, the JSV Group will have, in the second half of 2026, two vessels prepared to meet the most demanding environmental regulations. The first is expected to be delivered in March and the second in June.

“We have spent years focusing on efficiency and sustainability, with multimodal solutions and a strong commitment to rail transport. Now we move forward with our ‘Move to green’ objective also in our maritime lines, incorporating into our fleet these vessels that will represent a significant reduction in emissions,” says Sonia Herzog, CEO of JSV Group.

Both container vessels have an estimated capacity of 1,200 nominal TEUs, are equipped with a dual-fuel combustion system, and are prepared to operate on methanol, a liquid fuel that reduces CO₂ emissions by up to 70% and practically eliminates sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides and particulate matter. Additionally, both vessels can connect to shore power in port, as will be required from 2030 onward.

Furthermore, these vessels have greater width and height in all positions to optimize loading of Pallet Wide High Cube and 45’ containers, as well as a recently patented guiding system that speeds up operations. The goal is to adapt to the company’s wide variety of special containers.

A new generation of modern vessels with female names

JSV has named this new vessel “Miranda Green” as a tribute to the city where the company was founded more than 30 years ago.

Thus continues the Green series, which began with the first vessel, “Mila Green,” named in honor of the founder’s wife. In addition to the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability reflected in its motto “JSV Move to green,” choosing two female names symbolizes the essential role of women—both within the company and in the sector as a whole—in recent years.

JSV highlights that this new vessel represents another major milestone within its Sustainability Plan—both environmental and corporate—focused on long-term resilience and lasting success. Precisely to accelerate its growth and international expansion plans, last July JSV announced the entry of Nazca Capital as a strategic partner. In this partnership, the Herzog family remains in charge of management, with Sonia Herzog as CEO of JSV.

About JSV

Since its foundation, JSV has stood out for its innovation in tailor-made solutions and special containers, as well as for offering an agile, efficient service with direct control over all phases of the chain through its own resources. It began its journey in 1994 with maritime transport and the first patented containers in the Canary Islands, while also investing in modern facilities for dry cargo and temperature-controlled logistics, both for full container loads and palletized cargo.

Later, as part of its multimodal strategy and sustainability plan, the company invested over 7 million euros in the TCM (Terminal de Contenedores de Miranda) rail terminal and dry port in northern Spain, expanding rail connections and reducing its carbon footprint. Along the same line, in October 2023, it launched its own Port Hub in Alicante—a terminal of more than 70,000 square meters, with an initial investment of 12 million euros—allowing the group to integrate its services and build a key hub for efficient and sustainable multimodal connections.

Currently, JSV is the leading maritime service provider for the Canary Islands, offering express and regular routes, and has also consolidated its business vision in Turkey, providing a service that is as fast as road transport, with the same capacity, but with lower emissions.
